AlorAir 198 PPD Crawl Space Dehumidifiers with Pump and Drain Hose | Sentinel HDi90 | Size for 2600 sq.ft

Crawling though my 1600 sq ft crawlspace was like crawling though a carwash. Water was dripping from every surface. Once I encapsulated the space, I installed the ALORAIR and humidity began to drop immediately . ALORAIR ran constantly for about 2 weeks before it got down to the set point of 55%. Now it runs for about 5 or 10 minutes every half hour or so, depending on weather. Internal discharge pump is working fine. I installed the ALORAIR on level concrete blocks myself; I was afraid I wouldn't be able to lift it onto the blocks by myself but it went fine. I purchased the kit to install on hangars, but returned the kit as the dehumidifier instructions say its intended to be on blocks. Only maintenance so far is to clean the air filter - once so far-as there is a lot of loose floating fiberglass in my crawlspace.

I installed the ALORAir HDi90 in my 2300 sq. ft. crawl space using the ALORAir hanging kit. It was quite easy but it is definitely a two-person job. The relative humidity was 77 when I turned on the machine and the following morning the humidity was 55. And that is with only the vents closed and sealed. I have not finished installing the insulation on the walls but the ground is covered with vinyl. Since I have only had it for three days I cannot comment on longevity, and I have not hooked up the remote. So far, I am thrilled with the results and quality of the dehumidifier.

Hdi90 was used in the encapsulated crawlspace since 2019 date of purchase and worked great keeping moisture levels well below 50. After a couple years of service a few months ago the unit read a code and started tripping my gfci. Got in touch with warranty and they were quick to respond for trouble shooting very helpful answering unscripted questions promptly and shipped out replacement parts asap. Very happy with customer service and unit worked well!

The water removal capacity and built in pump are a plus, as is the cleanable air filter. But it would be nice if the fan speed were adjustable and if there were a tank that could be used in lieu of pumping to a drain.

This dehumidifier is just as described. Works great keeping my unfinished basement around 45% humidity. Prior to the dehu, the basement stayed around 80% and sometimes higher. You can feel the difference upstairs in the living space as it’s noticeably more comfortable. Humidity in the living space has even dropped.
